Barbara Ann Higginson

Barbara Ann Higginson, age 84, passed away of natural causes at the Uintah Care Center on January 4, 2017. She was born July 14, 1932 to Jasper and Fern Hampton in Wheatland, Wyoming. She married J. Leon Higginson November 25, 1950 in Casper, Wyoming. She was a resident of Vernal for 52 years. During that time, she worked at Rexall Drug, Walker Bank and 20 years for Leon Higginson Service. Barbara's faith in Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior was an inspiration to all who knew her and she will always be remembered for her generosity and compassion for others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; parents, two brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by daughter, Karla (Tim) Hanberg; son, Dennis (Debra) Higginson; and sister, Margaret (Lee) Johnson, Olympia, WA. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (2100 West Hwy 40). A viewing will be one hour prior to the services at the Church. Burial will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery, services are under the direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
