Allen Gilbert

Allen Louis Gilbert, age 71 of Vernal, Utah, passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Vernal on April 7, 1942 to Richard and Clifta Haws Gilbert. He attended school in Vernal and graduated from Uintah High School. He married Linda Wall on November 19, 1973. They later divorced. Allen worked as a Sheet Metal Mechanic and refrigeration and worked for Flaming Gorge Sheet Metal. Allen loved to fish, hunt and go camping. His best times were hunting with the grandkids. His dog Cowboy was his buddy to the end. He is survived by his sister; Judy Stutz, and children; Allen Louis Gilbert Jr., Donna Christensen, Michelle Slaugh, and Cliff Mair, and his wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Alana Fay. Memorial services were held Monday, July 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
