Alisa Burton Curtis

May 13, 1972 — October 14, 2022

Jensen

Alisa Burton Curtis of Jensen, Utah, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022 due to complications with Type 1 Diabetes and Covid.

She was born on May 13, 1972 in Payson, Utah to Neal and Lynda Burton. After graduating from Wasatch High School in 1990, she received a degree in Early Childhood Education at Utah Valley University. She then developed and taught her own preschool.

She enjoyed BYU football, acting and singing in the Wasatch Children’s Chorus and high school musicals, clogging performances, reading, studying the gospel, and was a gifted piano player. Her church callings included pianist and organist as well as serving with the primary, young women and the ward choir.

In 2000, she married Abraham Larsen Curtis in the Salt Lake Temple and their first son, Abraham Neal, was born in 2003. They fostered 12 children and then adopted two more precious sons, Damon and Drayden. Alisa was a devoted wife and mother. She dedicated her time and energy to her husband and family.

Alisa came with a heart full of spiritual gifts. She was a gentle angel in tune to others’ needs especially those of the elderly or lonely and often reached out in friendship and love. She was close to small children and loved to cheer them on as they grew. She could play the piano just by listening and has given thousands of hours of her time to play in church callings. She has a contagious smile and laugh that instantly cheers those around her and makes hearts lighter.

Alisa was born with the Savior’s countenance and image shining in her eyes. She naturally reflected His love and followed Him by reading her scriptures and praying to know more about Him. She is a student of truth and the Spirit. She is our hero; one of the noble and great spirits God talked about in the book of Abraham. Her sweet nature and kindness will be missed by all who have had the blessing of knowing her. We love you, Alisa!

Alisa is survived by her husband, Abraham Curtis; and three sons, Abraham Neal Curtis, Damon Gilley Curtis, Drayden Gilley Curtis, her parents Neal and Lynda Burton, and 6 siblings; Melanie Burton, Jonathan (Kristen) Burton, Emily (Teral) Tree, Christopher (Stacey) Burton, Raymon (Amanda) Burton and Ashlianne (Benjamin) Drewry.
