Alene Maxine Hendricks

Alene Maxine Hendricks, age 88 of Vernal passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday at the Uintah Care Center.

Born on February 28th1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Ancel and Rosa Pogue.

She married the love of her life, Brett Hendricks October 2, 1945 and together they had four children: Sue (Jack) Holmes, Chris (Jody) Hendricks, DeeAnn Oaks, and Russell (Elsie) Hendricks. She had 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Alene was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family and a wonderful cook. She loved visiting family and friends, sharing crazy stories with them of her misadventures laughing as she did. She loved camping, arrowhead hunting, and elk hunting. She had many stories of her “Elk Camp Adventures.” She enjoyed gardening and planting her flowers. She was an avid sports watcher, enjoying car races, football and the Utah Jazz. She was a bowler (but if you asked her they only let her on the team to buy the coffee) we knew better.

People thought of her as daintier woman, but she had an inner strength that was truly shown throughout her life.

Survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and brothers Danny and Darrell, and many nieces and nephews.

Proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Brett, her brother Bobby, her sisters Peggy and Mildred, her daughter DeeAnn, son-in-laws Jack Holmes, Wayne Pierce, Ronnie Oaks, grandchildren Paul Hendricks, Leisha Hendricks, great-grandchild Nolan Pierce, great-great grandchild Connor Cranford.

She is loved dearly and will be greatly missed. We love you.

Graveside services for Alene Maxine Hendricks will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11 A.M at the Farm Creek Cemetery. Under the Direction of blackburn and Sons Vernal Mortuary and Cremation Care.
