Rena Fay Potter Pallesen
July 18, 1934 ~ October 24, 2017
After seven long weeks of living as a widow, Rena Fay Potter Pallesen joined her husband of 66 years, Allan Dale Pallesen, for their next journey together. Rena was born on July 18, 1934 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Timothy and Bertha Nelson Potter of Linwood, Utah, the ninth of thirteen children. She attended schools in Washam, WY and Manila, UT and married her sweetheart, Allan, on July 23, 1951 in Green River, WY. After Allan's service in the US Army, they settled down in the Green River - Manila area to raise their family. Rena learned how to work hard at a young age and she enjoyed many jobs and hobbies. She excelled in the arts of sewing and quilting and was always happy to share her talents with others. Rena's passion was cooking, baking, and dutch ovens. She found great joy in feeding her family, friends and large gatherings, never letting anyone leave hungry. She loved her family and found joy in gathering them together for any occasion. Rena served in many ways, from volunteering in 4-H and Extension Homemakers, to working as a cook, librarian and Justice of the Peace, School Board member and owning a grocery store/gas station with her husband. She was always one of the first people to comfort others with her famous cinnamon rolls. Rena is survived by her children, Sharon (Brent) Jacobsen, Gary Nels (Teri), and Cindy (Keith) Larsen; 10 grandchildren Michael, Charley, Erika, Jeremy, Amy, April, Amber, Dustin, Chelsy and Lacy; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers Burl Potter, Dave (Kay) Potter and Louis (Pat) Potter; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Marva; brothers, Timothy Elijah, Lafayette, Everett, Dee, Skip, Vern; sisters Fon Slagowski, Eleanor Blackham and Reva Beckwith. Rena will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of life will be held from 1 - 3 pm on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Pallesen residence in Manila, 135 North Main Street.
